Some problems with Week View 8.1 for windows phone 8.1

Hi,

some users reported me problems with the windows phone 8.1 version of my app „Week „View. Please not that the current windows phone 8.1 is a DEVELOPER PREVIEW – not a final and stable version of the OS, so it is expected that it has some bugs.

UPDATE: It seems this problems are fixed with the current WP 8.1 Version of Week View, which is 8.8.5.0. Please install this update from marketplace, if you experience any problems.

I will list these problems with solutions here + try to fix all problems that are reported to me.

Problem: Facebook appointments are shown and cannot be disabled

Solution: It seems that the WP 8.1 programing interface does not return the facebook calendar, when disabled in the WP internal calendar app but some appointments from facebook are returned. A user of week view 8.1 told me a workaround for this problem:

– Please start the native WP 8.1 calendar app and enable FB calendars.
– Start Week View, you should see the facebook calendars listed in the tab „calendars“ now. Here you can deactivate the facebook calendar(s), which you don’t want to see in Week View.
– Optional: After this is done, start the native WP 8.1 calendar again and disable FB calendar.

Problem: The live tile does not update

I got this problem reported by some users and unfortunately I have no solution for it at the moment but I am working on it. The „background task agent“, which updates the live tile was not changed in the WP 8.1 version of Week View and according to the documentation from MS it should still work.     Hallo! Die Aktualisierung der live tiles funktioniert wieder. Warum weiss ich nicht. Vielleicht ein Update?! Weiter so mit dieser tollen App.

      Ja, es gab inzwischen ein kleineres Update, bei dem ich nicht sicher sagen konnte, ob es die Probleme mit dem Live Tile behebt.
      Inzwischen habe ich jedoch von mehreren Anwendern die Rückmeldung erhalten, dass das der Fall ist.

    Hallo,
    Wollte gestern das Update week view 8.8.6.6 installieren.
    Funktionierte nicht, ergo wie beschrieben
    deinstallieren und neu installieren.
    Deinstallieren geht aber neu nicht!
    Hilfe…
    Kann ich vorerst die vorherige irgendwie installieren?

      Auf das Verhalten des MS-Marketplace habe ich als Entwickler keinerlei Einfluss.
      Dieser Service wird von MS bereitgestellt – MS nimmt sich dafür auch 30% der Verkaufserlöse und ich muss meine eigenen App kaufen, wenn ich diese vom Marketplace installieren möchte.
      Ich kann nur empfehlen, die Installation zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt erneut zu versuchen.

    The next appointment isn’t shown properly on lock screen. The lock screen shows some older appointment but not the next coming up.

      Week View has nothing to do with the text on the phone lockscreen, it does not integrate with the lockscreen.
      Please check your phone settings, which apps is assigned to show details text on the lockscreen.
